â typically translated as charity, a debased word which now has an environment of condescension. Better possibly converted as elegance or loving-kindness, it’s that capability to feel another’s discomfort or delight, their expectations and concerns. To get an effective listener and also to offer help, advice and often good steps to help in hard situations. Most importantly being responsive to the emotions of another person.

Jenkins dismisses the passageway from 1 Corinthians 13 as pulpit platitude, but study in today’s translation it gets to the nub: “Love is patient ⦠kind ⦠does not envy or boast.
